New York's Premier Gallery For Black Art Since '79
Our founder, Billy E. Hodges, established the gallery in 1979 with a mission to highlight works by artists of the African Diaspora. Over the past four decades, we have had the privilege of placing works by artists such as Norman Lewis, Romare Bearden, Jacob Lawrence, Richard Hunt, Edmonia Lewis, Elizabeth Catlett, and countless other Black artists into major private and public collections worldwide. These institutions include The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The National Gallery in Washington, DC, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and many more. -
